What do you get when you combine a love of sports with holy saints? Lent Madness, of course, pitting 32 saints against one another in a single-elimination bracket as they compete for the coveted Golden Halo! 

How It Works

Lent Madness places thirty-two (32) saints in a single-elimination tournament bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time (usually one day) and people vote for their favorite saint. Sixteen (16) saints make it to the “Saintly Sixteen” Round of the; eight advance to the “Elate Eight” Round; four make it to the Faithful Four; and, two enter the Championship. The winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo.

Each weekday, information is posted on our website and Facebook page as well as on the Lent Madness website ( about two different saints. The first round will consists of basic biographical information about each of the thirty-two saints. In subsequent rounds, we will begin to offer quotes and quirks, explore legends, and even delve ino some saintly kitsch.

You get to vote to determine who goes on to the next round!
